For determination of deformation type, the whole field data containing shear planes with slickenside lineations were gathered from 28 localities in southern part of the Central Alborz. Plotting dihedra models on each locality, orientation of the principal paleostress axes were determined. Statistical analysis of the processed data demonstrated that the eigen vectors V1, V2, and V3 had the same orientation as the axes , , respectively
