Several years ago we have decided to concentrate our efforts on the isolation and structure elucidation of the constituents of the large family Compositae with more than 1000 Species in Iran.
This family is rich in all kinds of natural products, especially terpenoides. We have isolated a considerable number of new compounds, many of them showing interesting biological activity. Furthermore interesting chemotaxonomic aspects arc clearly visible.
The most powerful method of structure elucidation still is the H-NMR spectroscopy.
